Style Talk: Interview with Fashion Blogger Simply Raquel Collette

Happy Monday everyone! Today on Style Talk, we are interviewing Fashion Blogger Raquel, of Simply Raquel Collette! We will be talking about how she got into blogging, fashion advice, and her personal style. To conclude Style Talk, we will feature some of the looks Raquel has created for us using She + Sky items! 

WHAT IS THE PRIMARY FOCUS OF YOUR BLOG?

On the homepage of my blog I have a tagline…college, color, fashion, fun. I like to think that those four words sum up my blog and a lot of what I post about! My primary focus is fashion, but I also love posting about organization, school tips, beauty, books, and lifestyle topics in general. My blog started as a creative outlet, and that’s what I hope it will always continue to be!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT BLOGGING?

My favorite thing about blogging is that I get to share my personal style with tons of other girls and women across the world. I love getting input  from other bloggers and reading sweet comments that readers will leave if they love a particular post. It’s so much fun being about to share my viewpoint on style and fashion with my readers and bounce ideas + get inspiration from other bloggers out there.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE?

I would describe my style as feminine and classic. I love trying out fun new trends, such as tassels and off the shoulder pieces, but always pair them with a classic staple piece. Another huge part of my wardrobe and personal style are color and print. I have never been the one to shy away from a bright hue or pattern, and I think that definitely shows in my photos.

WHAT IS THE BEST FASHION ADVICE YOU’VE EVER RECEIVED?

The best fashion advice I have ever received is just to express your own style and not worry about what other people are going to think! I love looking at other bloggers and instagrammers for inspiration, but I try not to get too wrapped up in doing exactly what every one else does. If you don’t like a trend that’s currently all the rage, that’s ok! If you are totally loving something that everyone else is at the moment, that doesn’t mean you are “basic”. Just be yourself, and love what you wear!

FASHION CAN OFTEN BE INFLUENCED BY THE ENVIRONMENT WE LIVE IN. DESCRIBE HOW IT LOOKS WHERE YOU LIVE AND THE TYPE OF WEATHER YOU EXPERIENCE THERE. DO YOU THINK THIS IMPACTS YOUR STYLE? HOW?

I live in Michigan which is definitely a state known to have some crazy weather! I think the hardest part about being a blogger for me sometimes, is living in a state where the weather is constantly changing…but also one of the most fun parts! I have found that dressing in layers (but cute ones!) in the winter is the way to go. Because I live in a state with all four seasons, it’s fun to do blogposts and see the scenery and my style change throughout the year!
